\n1. Develop proficiency in both English and students’ first languages.
\n2. Support language and literacy skills to achieve curriculum goals.

\nemphasising not just words, but also the sensibility and empathy behind them.

Language Diversity

\nEnglish is the primary instructional language, but Japanese is also supported.
\nNon-instructional time encourages English use for shared communication, though
\nstudents may speak their first language.

\nSupport is provided for students\u2019 first languages (especially Japanese), through
\nresources and encouragement for first language development at home. Materials in
\nmultiple languages are made available to students.
