Recently, our K2 and K3 students enjoyed an exciting field trip to the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno. From the moment they arrived at school, the children were full of anticipation and eager to begin their adventure.

Before leaving school, we reviewed our safety expectations together. The children listened carefully and demonstrated responsibility throughout the trip by staying with their groups, following instructions, and showing excellent manners while travelling by train. For many children, the journey itself was part of the adventure as they excitedly watched different trains pass by and shared their observations with friends.

At the museum, the children explored a wide range of exhibits related to nature, science, animals, and space. One of the most memorable experiences was seeing the enormous dinosaur skeletons. Standing beneath these giant fossils sparked many questions and discussions as the children wondered what life was like millions of years ago.

The children were also fascinated by the insect collections, ocean life exhibits, and displays featuring animals from different environments around the world. Interactive exhibits encouraged them to observe carefully, think critically, and make connections between what they already knew and what they were discovering for the first time.

Lunchtime was another highlight of the day. The children happily gathered with their friends to enjoy their bento lunches, sharing conversations and proudly showing one another the special meals prepared by their families. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all parents and guardians for preparing such wonderful lunches.

Field trips like this provide valuable opportunities for children to learn through direct experience. Rather than simply reading about science and nature, the children were able to see, explore, question, and engage with the world around them firsthand. These authentic experiences help deepen understanding and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Throughout the day, the children demonstrated many important learner qualities, including curiosity, responsibility, communication, and collaboration. We were incredibly proud of the way they represented Beyondia and embraced every opportunity to learn.
