What happens when you give our K3 children an iPad and tell them that they are the photographers for the day? 📸✨ Lots of poses, even more smiles, and some wonderfully creative photographs! To celebrate World Photography Day, K3 stepped behind the camera and discovered how photography can turn an ordinary moment with friends into something worth remembering.
K3の子どもたちにiPadを渡して、「今日はみんながカメラマン！」と伝えたら、どんな写真が撮れるでしょう？📸✨ かわいいポーズにたくさんの笑顔、そして子どもたちならではの素敵な写真がいっぱい！**世界写真の日（World Photography Day）**をきっかけに、K3のみんながカメラマンになり、お友だちとの何気ない瞬間を写真に残す楽しさを体験しました。
Before long, our classroom had transformed into a tiny photography studio! 😆 Some children carefully framed their friends on the screen, while others were more than happy to become the models—posing, making funny faces, flashing peace signs, and experimenting with different expressions. Of course, taking selfies was also very popular! Every child approached the camera a little differently, and that was part of the fun.
あっという間に、いつもの教室が小さな写真スタジオに大変身！😆 画面を見ながらお友だちがきれいに写るように考える子もいれば、モデル役になって面白い顔をしたり、ピースサインをしたり、いろいろな表情を見せる子もいました。もちろん、自分たちで撮るセルフィーも大人気！同じカメラを使っていても、撮り方や楽しみ方は一人ひとり違います。
One of the most exciting parts was seeing the photograph appear on the screen immediately afterwards. 👀📱 The children gathered around the iPads to look at their pictures, proudly showed their favourites to their friends, and often responded with plenty of laughter before trying again. Taking a photograph became a wonderfully social experience—one child behind the camera, another in front of it, and usually several curious friends eager to see the result!
写真を撮った後、すぐに画面で確認できることも子どもたちにとって大きな楽しみの一つでした。👀📱 「見て見て！」とお気に入りの写真をお友だちに見せたり、みんなで写真を見て笑ったり、もう一度撮ってみたり。カメラを持つ子、モデルになる子、そして出来上がった写真を一緒に見る子。写真を撮ることが、お友だちと楽しむ素敵なコミュニケーションの時間にもなりました。
But photography is about more than pressing a button. 📸 Every time the children lifted an iPad, they were making their own little creative decisions: Who will I photograph? What will I include in my picture? Where should I point the camera? What kind of moment do I want to capture? Looking through a camera encourages us to slow down, notice what is around us, and choose what we want other people to see.
でも、写真を撮ることは、ただボタンを押すだけではありません。📸 「誰を撮ろう？」「どこまで写真に入れよう？」「どこから撮ったらいいかな？」「どんな瞬間を残したいかな？」カメラを向けるたびに、子どもたちは小さな選択をたくさんしています。カメラを通して見ることで、身の回りのものに目を向け、自分が「見せたい」と思うものを選んで表現することにもつながります。
This experience also connected beautifully with K3’s current Unit of Inquiry, How We Express Ourselves, in which we are exploring the idea that “People express their ideas and talents in different ways.” 🎨🎵📸 We often think of drawing, music, dance or words when we talk about expression, but photography can be another powerful creative language. Even when children are standing in the very same classroom, each photographer can notice something different and choose to capture the moment in their own way.
今回の活動は、K3が現在取り組んでいるUnit of Inquiry **「How We Express Ourselves（私たちはどのように自分を表現するのか）」**の「人はさまざまな方法で自分の考えや才能を表現する」という学びにもぴったりつながっています。🎨🎵📸 表現と聞くと、絵や音楽、ダンス、言葉などを思い浮かべますが、写真も自分らしく何かを伝える方法の一つです。同じ教室、同じお友だちを見ていても、「撮りたい！」と思う瞬間や撮り方は一人ひとり違います。
Perhaps that is one of the most special things about photography: it lets us see a familiar world through somebody else’s eyes. 💛 For K3, World Photography Day became a chance not only to experiment with a camera, but also to capture the friendships, funny faces, big personalities, and joyful little moments that make up their days together at Beyondia. And judging by the smiles both in front of and behind the camera, we may have a few future photographers in K3! 📸🌟
写真の素敵なところは、いつもの世界を誰かの目線から見ることができることなのかもしれません。💛 K3にとって今回の世界写真の日は、カメラを使ってみるだけではなく、お友だちとの関わりや面白い表情、一人ひとりの個性、そしてBeyondiaで一緒に過ごす楽しい瞬間を写真に残す機会となりました。カメラの前でも後ろでもこんなに素敵な笑顔が見られたK3。もしかすると、未来のフォトグラファーがこの中から誕生するかもしれませんね！📸🌟
