In K1, creativity can be found in every corner of the classroom. Whether children are drawing colourful pictures, designing unique LEGO creations, or inventing stories through play, they are constantly expressing their ideas in meaningful and imaginative ways. At Beyondia Ikebukuro, we believe creativity is not simply about making something beautiful—it is about thinking independently, solving problems, and confidently sharing ideas with others.

K1クラスでは、教室のあらゆる場所で子どもたちの創造力が輝いています。カラフルな絵を描いたり、LEGOでオリジナルの作品を作ったり、ごっこ遊びを通して物語を生み出したりしながら、一人ひとりが自分らしいアイデアを表現しています。Beyondia Ikebukuroでは、創造力とは「きれいな作品を作ること」だけではなく、自分で考え、工夫し、思いを表現する力だと考えています。

Drawing gives children an opportunity to communicate ideas that are sometimes difficult to express with words. As they experiment with colours, shapes, and patterns, they are strengthening fine motor skills while developing confidence in their own unique way of thinking. Every picture tells a story, and every child brings a different perspective to the page.

お絵描きは、まだ言葉だけでは伝えきれない思いや考えを表現する大切な機会です。色や形、模様を自由に使いながら、指先の力を育てるだけでなく、「自分らしい表現」を楽しむ自信も育まれています。同じテーマでも、一人ひとり違った作品が生まれることが子どもたちの豊かな発想を表しています。

Construction play encourages another kind of creativity. When children build with LEGO and other materials, they imagine, plan, test ideas, and make changes along the way. Sometimes a simple tower becomes a house, a garden, or even an entire world created from their imagination. Through this process, children naturally develop problem-solving skills, perseverance, and flexible thinking.

また、LEGOなどを使った構成遊びでは、別の形の創造力が育まれています。子どもたちは「何を作ろうかな」と考え、試しながら組み立て、必要に応じて工夫を重ねていきます。小さな作品が家や公園、動物の世界へと発展していくこともあり、その過程で問題解決力や粘り強さ、柔軟な思考力も自然と身についていきます。

Perhaps most importantly, our classroom provides children with the freedom to explore their own ideas. There is rarely only one “correct” answer. Instead, we encourage children to take risks, experiment, and celebrate their own creativity while appreciating the unique ideas of their classmates. These experiences help children understand that imagination has no limits and that every idea has value.

そして何より大切なのは、子どもたちが安心して自分のアイデアを試せる環境です。正解は一つではありません。挑戦すること、工夫すること、そして友だちそれぞれの発想を認め合うことを大切にしています。こうした経験を積み重ねることで、「想像することの楽しさ」や「自分の考えには価値がある」という気持ちが育まれていきます。

By encouraging creativity every day, we are helping children become confident thinkers, communicators, and lifelong learners. We are always amazed by the wonderful ideas our K1 students share, and we look forward to seeing where their imagination takes them next.
