Our final Summer School adventure took us beyond the classroom and into a world where imagination, technology, movement, and creativity came together. For Day 4, the children travelled to Little Planet in Odaiba, ready to explore an exciting interactive environment filled with colour, light, digital play, and discovery. From the moment we set off, there was a wonderful sense of anticipation as the children chatted with their friends, looked through the bus windows, and spotted familiar Tokyo sights along the way. 🚌✨

サマースクール最終日は、教室を飛び出し、想像力・テクノロジー・身体表現・創造性がひとつにつながる特別な冒険へ出かけました。Day 4の目的地は、お台場にあるLittle Planet（リトルプラネット）。色や光、デジタル技術を使った遊びに囲まれた空間に、子どもたちは到着前からわくわくした様子でした。バスの中でも、お友だちとの会話を楽しみながら窓の外を眺め、電車や東京スカイツリーなど、知っている景色を見つけるたびに嬉しそうな声が聞こえてきました。🚌✨

At Little Planet, the children quickly discovered that this was a place where they could do much more than simply watch. They could touch, throw, move, create, experiment, and see the environment respond to their actions. Surrounded by glowing projections and interactive displays, they eagerly tested different possibilities, learning through movement and firsthand experience. In the digital ball area, even a familiar activity became something completely new as light and technology transformed the space around them. 🌈

Little Planetでは、ただ「見る」だけではなく、触れる・投げる・動く・作る・試すといった子どもたち自身のアクションによって、目の前の世界が変化していきます。光に包まれたボールプールやインタラクティブな映像の中で、「こうしたらどうなるんだろう？」と試しながら、身体全体を使って夢中で遊ぶ姿が見られました。いつもの遊びも、デジタル技術と組み合わさることで、まったく新しい体験へと変わっていきました。🌈

One of the most fascinating experiences allowed the children to combine their own creativity with the digital world. They created and coloured pictures before watching their artwork become part of an animated environment. Seeing something that began on a piece of paper suddenly appear in a larger digital world brought creativity to life in an unforgettable way. Their expressions showed the excitement of realizing that their own ideas could become part of what they were seeing and experiencing. 🎨✨

特に子どもたちの興味を引いたのは、自分で描いたり色を塗ったりした作品が、デジタルの世界の中で動き出す体験でした。紙の上で生まれた自分のアイデアが、大きな映像空間の一部となって現れると、子どもたちは画面をじっと見つめながら、その変化を楽しんでいました。**「自分が作ったものが世界の一部になる」**という体験は、創造する喜びとテクノロジーへの興味を自然につなげてくれました。🎨✨

The children also explored activities that invited them to investigate, solve problems, and use their imaginations. In one interactive area, dinosaurs, landscapes, and projected environments turned exploration into an exciting hands-on experience. The children moved objects, experimented with the materials in front of them, watched the projected world change, and shared discoveries with one another. Rather than being given all the answers, they were encouraged to explore what might happen next. 🦖

また、恐竜や自然をテーマにしたインタラクティブなエリアでは、子どもたちが道具や素材を動かすことで映像が変化し、まるで自分たちがその世界を探検しているような体験を楽しみました。「次はどうなるかな？」「ここを動かしたら？」と、自分で考え、試し、変化を観察していく姿が印象的でした。答えを教えてもらうのではなく、自分の行動から発見することが、遊びそのものになっていました。🦖

Throughout the visit, there were countless opportunities for social learning too. The children played alongside their classmates, waited for turns, watched what others were doing, exchanged ideas, and sometimes discovered how an activity worked by observing a friend first. These small moments of cooperation helped them navigate an unfamiliar environment with growing confidence and independence.

今回のフィールドトリップでは、体験そのものだけでなく、お友だちとの関わりの中にもたくさんの学びがありました。順番を待ったり、お友だちの遊び方を見て新しい方法に気づいたり、一緒に試したりする姿が自然に生まれていました。初めての環境の中でも、周りを見ながら自分で考えて行動することで、子どもたちの自信や自立心も育まれていきました。

After an energetic morning, everyone enjoyed lunch together and had time to recharge. Our exploration then continued beyond the digital world as the children encountered nature outside, spotting creatures such as cicadas, lizards, and dragonflies. Moving from technology-rich play to observing living things gave the children another way to practise the same important skill: noticing the world carefully and allowing curiosity to lead to questions. 🌿🦎

たくさん身体を動かした後は、みんなでランチを食べてひと休み。その後はデジタルの世界から自然の世界へと探究が広がり、外ではセミやトカゲ、トンボなどの生き物にも出会いました。最新のテクノロジーを使った遊びと自然観察は一見まったく違うように見えますが、どちらにも共通しているのは、目の前のものをよく見て、「これは何だろう？」「どうしてだろう？」と興味を持つこと。子どもたちの好奇心は、場所が変わっても途切れることなく続いていました。🌿🦎

Back at school, the pace of the day became a little quieter. After a snack, the children watched Inside Out, giving them an opportunity to relax after their busy adventure while also connecting with ideas about emotions and the different colours and characters used to represent them. Free play at the end of the day gave everyone time to unwind, talk with friends, and bring an exciting day to a gentle close.

学校へ戻ってからは、おやつを食べて少しゆったりとした時間へ。たくさん活動した身体を休めながら、映画 Inside Out を鑑賞し、さまざまな「感情」が色やキャラクターによってどのように表現されているのかにも触れました。最後は自由遊びを楽しみ、お友だちと今日の出来事を振り返りながら、充実した一日を穏やかに締めくくりました。

This field trip was much more than an exciting day out. Through digital creativity, physical play, observation, problem-solving, nature, and friendship, the children experienced how learning can happen everywhere. Most importantly, they were given the freedom to wonder, experiment, make discoveries, and build confidence in an unfamiliar environment. These are the experiences that help children see themselves not simply as participants, but as curious explorers capable of shaping, questioning, and understanding the world around them. 🌟

今回のフィールドトリップは、楽しいお出かけであると同時に、子どもたちにとって多くの学びが詰まった一日となりました。デジタル表現、身体を使った遊び、観察、試行錯誤、自然との出会い、そして友だちとの関わり。そのすべてがつながり、「学びはどこにでもある」ということを体験する機会になりました。初めての環境でも、自分で考え、試し、発見する経験を重ねることで、子どもたちは少しずつ自信を深めていきます。これからも、身の回りの世界に問いを持ち、自分の力で新しい発見を楽しめる好奇心いっぱいの探究者として成長していってほしいと思います。🌟
